This leadership textbook was provided as a mandatory reading for my Naval Science: Leadership and Management class.
While this textbook was brimming with insightful information lesdership leadership, it was not transformational in any sense regarding how to lead in real-life contexts for my field. Leacership was highly generalized and often focused more on the theory behind leadership than teaching and advising on how to lead.

The book was required reading a designation in pursuing. Information was as expected for a textbook. Geared toward college students though, not professionals with years of career experience. Jul ginett, Jason Buck rated it really liked it. Lots of good examples and theory.
This is a great textbook. It is filled with facts and statistics, of course, but it is also liberally sprinkled with ginnetr life case studies and relevant quotes. Each concept is thoroughly explained and thoughts are clearly and concisely shared with sufficient detail. The book covers quite a bit in its 16 chapters; it never feels like the authors are belaboring any one point.
The summary, glossary and exercises at the end of each chapter are nice study guides. This book was required reading for a course.
There are some interesting parts but there are other parts that just didn’t stack up against other books that have been used in the program. I am glad I was able to rent this book instead of buying. Having said that, it does a decent job of comprehensively covering leadership concepts which is, after all, the point.
Another MBA book which I read through and thought, wow, it is pretty decent. Enjoyed this book and helped me become a better leader.
