Review: Duchess by Chance by Wendy Vella

Duchess By Chance was intriguing right from the start. She was a strong character. Filled with enough action and drama to keep the story entertaining beyond the romance, Duchess by Chance is a novel about a couple forced together by their interfering fathers. And they would rub along together nicely; she would make sure of it.

The plot was not bad. I received an eBook copy from the author for the purpose of an honest review. Duchess By Chance by Wendy Vella is an exciting historical romance. Will her past come back to cause Daniel has to marry Eve. The bottom line is that Duchess by Chance is a lovely debut to a historical romance series. Aug 16, Ishara Dasruth rated it liked it.

After the wedding, Daniel vows to leave Eva at his country estate and return to London. With her newfound friend and neighbor, Claire Belmont, Eva casts off her dowdy dresses and all remnants of her past life and embraces her new one — and she loves it.

Daniel grows to be very protective of Eva and he will do whatever he can to keep her out cyance harms way.

Nor can Nobodies threaten to kill a Duke with Daniel’s good standing both with the ton and government with impunity. This would give them a chance to ‘serve’ their country and might even be the making of them? Daniel has to marry Eve. Both main characters were likable. Can they make their marriage real despite coming from two completely different worlds?

You answered with chancee thank you and a bella when complimented and usually the recipient was happy to take up the reins and talk about either himself or the latest piece of gossip.

Webdy flawed Wendy Vella has found a strong market, but it does not include me. There were at least three rape attempts. It had sweet and steamy romance, thrills, and a vindictive old suitor. Eva soon realized there was not much to learn about social chitchat.

To add I enjoy reading Wendy Vella’s regency romances.

Duchess By Chance (Regency Rakes, #1) by Wendy Vella

She had never felt safe. And can he protect her from her from the people in her past? Read Chapter 11, when they are planning Eva’s first channce.

Supported by an equally diverse cast, Vella clearly knows how to write realistic and entertaining characters. Will her past come back to cause trouble?

The teaser for the next book in the series was great and I am curious about the plot but not sure I will read wrndy next book because of the descriptive sex. It was sweet, with how deeply these two fell for each other. While alone in London, Daniel finds himself thinking of Eva and feels stunned by the prospect that he might have feelings for her. I was not compensated for this wedy, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.

I have to share this one short excerpt. Found a few errors closer to the back, but nothing that should prevent anyone from reading it. This was a really cute and fun read.

The constant yb of Eva’s old suitor, who refused to give up, kept me on the edge of my seat. I wonder why her father singled out his two children Eva and Reggie from his second wife and punished them.

I really enjoyed reading this book.

Despite the shock, this is an unexpected opportunity to escape her veloa family — one she grasps at with both hands. This book just did not do it for me at all. I absolutely loved that! Puzzling, since all of the elements were there.
