Vintage 1967 Ludwig 16X16 Floor Tom BDP Black Diamond Pearl with Chicago Keystone badge, serial 518709. 3 ply with white interior and no date stamp. Baseball Bat Muffler w/ white felt.
This drum is in good working order. The shell has a flat spot on the exterior where the seam and scarf joint are, but is in round with nice bearing edges. The badge and grommet are tight and appear to be original and never removed. There is a bit of a crease in the badge. The wrap is original and tight with no lifting st the seam. There is some light fading/greening as well as some scuffs and scratches consistent with age and use. There are some spots that have staining toom ive tried those in the ohotos to the best of my ability.
The chrome hardware is in decent shape with some pitting, flaking, and rust. The baseball bat muffler appears to be original and works great. Both hoops are steel. The top hoop has some big patches of chrome flaking and the bottom has more pitting and rust, but both shined up and look great. The legs are all Ludwig, but are likely not original as they are the longer versions. Most tension rods and washers are replacements and one of the wing nuts on the leg brackets seems to be a replacement. Heads are newer Remo - Pinstripe batter and Ambassador reso.
Looks and sounds great and will make a great player's grade vintage drum!
