    Description

This is a very nice Gretsch 13x9 vintage tom shell PLUS ALL THE HARDWARE needed to complete your drum
You will get two die-cast hoops, one original and one replacement, the diamond plate mount, two excellent tone controls, and the 12 lugs with tension rods, some original and some replaced. All you need to do is WRAP IT
It was originally wrapped in Midnight Blue and was faded enough and cracking from the past 50 plus years where the wrap needed removal. The shell is in round and nice bearing sound edges. The Maple and Gumwood plies are nice. All the drill holes are factory, and the one exception, which is meaningless, is I received the drum with a vented badge versus Rosebud pin.
It makes little difference as you will wrap the drum, attach your badge, pin or vent style, and you are off to playing, but, I assumed you will want the pin style, so I filled the vent hole with maple sawdust and Titebond 3 filler for you. This means you can choose either badge method. I will throw in a nice replica Round Badge and Pin sold here on ebay
The paper tag is intact, the silver sealer present and clean
This is a listing for a complete drum minus the wrap
As with all vintage Gretsch shells that were factory wrapped, they retain Hide glue residue, as you see here and with all donor shells listed. Hide Glue is water-based, DO NOT use solvents that will ruin your shell. Don't oversand, or sand at all and ruin your ply's. Discussion with many Gretsch folks agree.
A good drum wrap of the proper mil will cover the imperfections of hide glue residue. My usage of the shell, and any vintage Gretsch shells I have worked with, I use Bron double-sided red tape. Some tackiness and residue remains on the shell, which you will need anyways when you wrap this drum, or do whatever you deem necessary
This items are described and pictured sufficiently and is sold AS IS.
This shell sounded great when I played it. I am "thinning the herd" thus this becomes available to you.
