1988 Miyata 712 Road Bike, made in Japan. 54cm c-c seat tube, 55.5cm c-t. 54.5cm top tube, 31" stand-over height. Best for riders 5'5"-5'8". Fully lugged construction. Miyata lightweight splined triple butted 4130 chrome-moly frame tubes, stays and fork blades. Original red/white paint and original components are in amazing condition and the bike has been lightly used with very low miles and no damage whatsoever.
Full Shimano 105 groupset with index shifting (friction option). The bike is all original except for the new SRAM chain, new bar tape, Allara white leather toe straps, Specialized 700x25c skin wall tires, (clearance for up to 700x28c tires) and saddle. The bike originally came with a white vinyl Selle Italia Mundialita SP saddle and white bar tape. I replaced the saddle with the same model, but the higher-spec black suede leather one, as equipped on the 912. I also switched the bar tape to black, as I think the black saddle and bar tape look better on this bike. Every moving part has been ultrasonically cleaned and lubed, wheels trued, frame cleaned and polished and the bike has been curated like the piece of functional art that it is. Lightweight at 22.3lb as equipped. Ready for a lifetime of use. Overall, maybe one of the nicest original 712s out there. The lightweight triple-butted chrome-moly tubing throughout the bike makes for a lively, but super-comfortable road bike. Please see full specs below.
